BEHIND THE LENS

MY INSPIRATION

As a mother of three beautiful and energetic young boys, I know that time is fleeting and children grow leaps and bounds in what seems like seconds. I want to freeze time and capture those precious moments for you and your family.

Before becoming a professional photographer, I attended New York University and received my Masters in Social Work. I worked for 7 years as a Clinical Social Worker and provided counseling services to children, adolescents, adults and families. My specialty was in Early Intervention, providing therapeutic services and play therapy to children birth to three, who had developmental delays. My training and experiences as a Social Worker give me a unique perspective on photography. I firmly believe in the value of human relationships and strive for a collaborative relationship with my clients. I am trained to listen to what is important to each family and will ensure that their wants and needs are met in their session.  I also believe in respecting the uniqueness of every person and strive to ensure that my photos capture each person's individual style, personality and range of emotions.

I've always been in love with photography. My love intensified after my children were born. I began taking photography classes at the University of Utah to improve my craft. I invested in private lessons (including studying with world-renowned wildlife photographer David Schultz) and professional photography equipment. I became a member of the Profesional Photographers of America (PPA), built a portfolio and grew my business. I consistently strive to improve my skills and will forever be a student of photography.
